Chapter 13

Bella

We crash through the front door of Logan’s condo, his mouth devouring mine and his hands hungry at my back, underneath his jacket, which I still have wrapped around my shoulders.

He drove. Of course he drove. Logan hates cabs. While we sat in traffic in his black sedan with the tinted windows, crawling ever so slowly toward our neighborhood, my hands were clenched tightly in my lap, my teeth grinding together. We hardly said anything. I was suddenly shy and couldn’t think of what to say. It’s not like I could blurt out things like, If you only knew how long I’ve wanted this, or It’s always been you, or how about, Every time I’ve touched myself since we met, it’s like you were there with me.

I know all that would have made Logan turn the car around.

As soon as he parked and we’ve walked through the front door of the condo, he’s reaching for me again, and I’m lost. There are no more thoughts. No more arguments from him. No more protests. No more reasons we should be apart. It’s just us, the way we always should have been.

“Bella,” Logan groans against my lips.

I wrap my hands around his neck and dig my fingers into the worn, soft cotton of his gray T-shirt. He’s scalding, the warmth of him bleeding into my fingertips, with the shock of how good his hands feel at my back and waist racing through my bloodstream.

“Logan,” I pant.

His hands strip away his leather jacket. He tosses it to the side, onto the living room floor. I want to look around, to drink in the details, to see where he lives and how he’s decorated, the things he’s bought, even to ask him if he did it or if someone else helped, whether that would have been a decorator or family member, but I can’t keep my focus off of him for more than a few seconds.

Right now, I just want him.

I don’t care about anything else.

When his strong, rough hands sweep to my suit jacket, I help him peel it off my shoulders. I’m the one who rips my hands out and casts it aside.

“You always were my flame,” Logan grinds out as he tears my blouse open. The first few buttons sail through the air and rain down like droplets onto the floor. His mouth is hungry when he drops his head and kisses a path from my throat over my collarbone. His jaw is rough with dark stubble and I can feel my sensitive skin heating up, burning from the rough rasp. “I’ve tried so hard to forget about you.” He tears my blouse the rest of the way open and the remaining buttons join the first few. His hands sweep over my flat stomach and up to cup my breasts through the lace of my bra.

I might be his flame, but his mouth is fire, his jaw rubbing me raw and his kisses easing the sting.

“I’m stubborn,” Logan admits, his voice gravelly, his tongue a sinfully sweet indulgence as his hand cups my breast.
